I’m so glad you found your way here.

This little corner of the internet was created for people who are trying to make sense of the TEFL world without getting overwhelmed, misled, or buried under polished marketing claims. If you’ve ever gone down the rabbit hole of course comparisons, review sites, mixed opinions, bold promises, and “top 10” lists that all somehow say the same thing… I know the feeling.

That’s a big part of why this site exists.

I’ve been involved in TEFL for more than 10 years, and like a lot of people, I didn’t begin with some perfectly mapped-out long-term plan. I moved city when I was younger, life shifted in unexpected ways, and TEFL ended up opening doors I never could have predicted. What started as a practical decision gradually became the thing that gave me freedom, direction, and the chance to see more of the world than I ever imagined possible.

Over the years, TEFL became much more than work. It became a way to travel, build a life abroad, meet people from every kind of background, and experience places I might never otherwise have seen. I’ve now visited more than 50 countries, and somewhere along the way I eventually settled in East Asia, which has become home in all the ways that matter.

Travel has shaped so much of how I think. It has taught me to be curious, adaptable, open-minded, and a little less impressed by glossy promises. It has also taught me that when people are making a big life decision – especially one that involves spending money, changing countries, or starting over somewhere new – they deserve better information than vague sales copy and recycled affiliate content.

And that brings me to this site.

The truth is, the TEFL course I originally took wasn’t good. I won’t name it here, and I have no interest in turning this into a personal takedown page, but it was poor quality and nowhere near as helpful as I had hoped. It taught me a lesson early: not every course is what it claims to be, and not every review source is as independent as it looks.

That experience stayed with me.

So this website was built as the kind of resource I wish I’d had back then – a place where people can explore TEFL course options with a bit more clarity and a lot less noise. The goal is simple: offer open information, surface useful trust signals, and use objective AI-assisted scoring to help make reviews easier to compare. Not to replace human judgment, but to support it.

I strongly believe people should be able to make informed decisions without being pushed toward whatever happens to pay the highest commission.

That’s also why I’m careful about what appears here. There are some companies I simply won’t include, because once personal experience enters the picture too strongly, objectivity becomes harder to maintain. I’d rather leave something out than pretend I’m neutral when I’m not.

At its heart, this site is about guidance. Not pressure. Not hype. Just a genuine attempt to create a reliable home for people who are trying to find a decent TEFL course and want a clearer sense of what’s worth their time, money, and trust.

I want it to be useful whether you’re just starting to think about teaching abroad, comparing providers, planning a career shift, or simply trying to avoid making an expensive mistake.

And yes – in time, I hope this project becomes financially rewarding too. Keeping a site like this running takes a lot of time, research, testing, writing, and ongoing effort, and I’d love for it eventually to support itself through carefully chosen advertising and sustainable monetisation. But the priority has to come first: if this is going to exist, it needs to be helpful.

To make course choices a little less confusing.
To share open information that helps people feel more confident about their next step.
And to build something honest, useful, and lasting for the people figuring it all out.
